I've been obsessed with Raymond Loewy's DF2000 series for some time, have four pieces from that set. They're white cabinets and dressers with gradated red/orange plastic fronts. I can't get enough of this design.
I also really like the really wild, experimental Italian pop and anti-design. I picked up Archizoom's Superonda about six months ago, in red vinyl.
I am in the process of acquiring Maurice Calka's Boomerang desk. This is the holy grail of plastic design, something I've always wanted!
Some pieces I'm looking for, would love to own:
-Eero Aarnio's VSOP champagne chair set/table -Il Pratone ("Meadow") seating unit, Gruppo Strum/Gufram -Harvey Probber's Hexabloc seating system -Sunball fiberglass lounge chair -Nicola's "Homme" pop art seating unit (ala Claes Oldenburg)
There are many more, but these are some really excellent pieces.

Great taste! I would say you have "Champagne" taste Great stuff there, both the things you have and are looking for.
The Pop stuff looked super in our Philly loft but after moving to a Fifties "California Contemporary" in New Jersey (if you can imagine that) many pieces just don't fit in so well. I still haven't let go of my Chadwick system nor my Eero Aarnio Cognac Chairs and Kantarelli Table (see the pic in About/Press) but many other pieces have been sold. We had a great curving orange plastic shelving unit (about 18ft of it), along with two white ones and a yellow one - the stuff many claim as Joe Colombo, which it is not - and sold that. Also, we sold our red and orange DF2000 Mans Wardrobe. BUT I will hold on to those pieces that I can make work as long as I can.
Enough rambling here....

Glad you like that stuff, you seem to have a well-rounded knowledge of a wide variety of eras. That can be both a blessing and a curse, if you know what I mean.
If you ever decide that your Aarnio table and chairs don't match your California Modern home, just give me a buzz.
Take care!

If I ever do sell them I will certainly let you know. BTW, where do you come across most of your items? On the Web, auctions, locally, through travelling...? With the calibre of items you are seeking I am just curious.
PS...Yes I am cursed! I like so many things and have only so much room in the house. The good thing about collecting though is that you can move through periods pretty easily by trading/buying/selling...when you get tired of one thing move on to something else that has caught your attention.

I find stuff both locally and on the Web. I'm on eBay constantly, there are often good deals there, esp. on furniture. The high-end stuff doesn't get huge prices on eBay, I've scored a few times.
I check the auction sites, like Phillips and Treadway, as well as Rago Arts and LAModern.
I also just write people who have stuff in the vein I like, they can often give you leads on other more obscure items.
My favorite page to begin a Web crawl would be here:
Many of the best stores can be found linked from that page. There are lots of great European dealers who have things that us Americans don't normally ever see.
It doesn't help that I live above a modern furniture store either!
All in all, I can think of more destructive habits, and I don't really think putting money into furniture is a bad idea. It's actually as sound of an investment as they come, if you know what you're doing.

Hey, we have a pretty cool Links Directory too! But I agree that those are great shops and I too have that bookmark in my favorites. If you know where you want to go that is an easy and quick way to get there. This brings up a point. What is it that you look for in a links listing...just quick and EZ or more info? We will be fine-tuning our links and I have thoughts of adding icons that tell, for instance, whether a shop lists prices, etc. I think if people use the rating and review feature we have that will also help to provide more relevant links...other ideas or thoughts? Anyone?
I also LOVE Google! The absolutely best Search Engine to find something specific.

Barry, I read that you have or had some Aarnio cognac chairs and a Kanttarelli table. Do you know the approximate value of the chairs and the coffee and dining tables? Thanks!
You hardly ever see an entire set for sale. I see the chairs go for up to $2500 each individually. I have seen the table listed for around the same so add it up and there is an estimate for you. Of course with lots of time and patience I am sure it can be had for less. Buying it in pieces may save money but then you will have additional fees such as shipping, upholstery etc that may eat up your savings.
Good luck!
