I have got a mahogany table and side board in my spare room and need a bookcase. I can't find any the same or similar colour, without it looking stupid.

What colour bookcase could i get that doesn't clash with the mahogany furniture?

I think you would also have to consider the design of your furniture, if its leaning towards modern - then dont be afraid to use colors, and textures, and the kind of total look of the room that you are going for.
But if the design is very classic, then natural colors works best..
