The wood is very nice condition. They are not teak. I think they might be maple or beech and have a darker brown stain/finish. There is some slight fading of the stain on the arm rest areas, but otherwise they really look great. The cushions and the foam are in great shape. The prior owner screwed a board to the one of the seat pans of the chair (probably to use in lieu of the straps), so there are 2 or 4 small screw holes on one of the chairs, but they are hidden by the cushions. I also have one matching ottoman that has no cushion that I would throw in.

I don't know if anyone is still reading this post BUT I have a z chair and matching couch (I'm not sure exactly how wide it is, probably about 66") both from Selig.

They are in OK condition (need new straps, foam and they need to be refinished)... they also have the original fabric.

Does anyone know anything else about these pieces of furniture?

My mother has a pair of Z Chairs, bought in 1959. They need new straps and replacement cushions. Does anyone know where I can find either or both? Thanks!

it took me two years of searching to find mine at a price i could afford. but, i have seen them recently on craigslist (search under danish modern, mid century modern, z chair, poul jensen, selig). i have seen them on eBay but they tend to be pricey when you factor shipping in.
