Hi, I was really lucky recently. I purchased two Eames DAX chairs that I had seen in a window of an office building being sold. I thought I was getting a great deal as it was, but was even more pleased to find they are Zenith chairs with rope edges. Since they have sat in the lobby of a small company for the past 55 years they have become a bit dirty. One even has really, really old gum on the bottom. There is a lot of filth showing around the rope edges where waiting clients probably grabbed the sides of the armrests... So I want to give them a really good cleaning, but of course I don't want to use anything to abrasive or that would react badly with the old finish. Anyone have an experience or thoughts? Thanks!
