i have a molded plywood eames table with metal legs. it is black (in the condition that i found it in), and i am not sure if the finish is original. it looks as if it may have been painted, i don't see any grain. where can i find out about refinishing or re-ebonizing it.

I am having the same issue with a DCW. The finish on mine is chipped and flaking. THe original finish was aniline dye, which is designed to enhance the grain. If you cant see the grain at all perhaps it has been painted. If you have found any resources on refinishing the moulded plywood, or preserving the finishes please pass them on!
