I have this Russell Wright desk (vanity?) I'm interested in selling. The condition is very good, some chipping to the varnish on the top and around the drawer handles, but no stains. Any idea of the value?r
The problem is that most Russel Wright collector interest seems to lie in the dinnerware, pottery and serving pieces rather the the furniture. Values are perhaps a bit depressed because of this...as you can see at the links below the Russel Wright Conant Ball items aren't that expensive...I think the last time I saw a vanity like yours it was around $650-850..
There has been a great deal of discussion on the Russel Wright list as to what are really his pieces made by Conant Ball. It is hard to see the label in the picture, but his name should be on it. Apparently, Conant Ball continued to produce the pieces, after there contract with him expired, with minor modifications. This seems to be an important concern to the Russsel Wright collectors. I am not an expert on this, just a little information. Hope it helps.
I did notice that the label they supplied above does have the Russel Wright mark at the bottom of the label shown...so I guess this one must be legit...
I've heard all the concerns as well and I think that the somewhat similar furniture line that is marked "Stardust" on the back and is often protrayed as Wright's but I haven't seen documentation that it is either...
