Hello everyone, I found 2 armshell chairs in a nearby used furniture shop, but I can't tell is they are knoll or miller manufactured. Where the base meets the chair, it looks like a star with 4 points. Did these manufacturers make a base that looked like that. The only real ones I ever see have an 'H' base or an 'x' base. He wants $50 for two, and I also wanted to know if that was a good price for me to then sell them afterwards?
If these are the Eames designed armshells then they should be by Herman Miller rather than Knoll. There were similar knoff-off designs however. If you look beneath the shell there should be a stamp of some kind indicating the manufacturer. If Herman Miller then this is a good buy, even for resale.
