i wonder if anyone could valuate my 60's conference table model 2080 by florence knoll (large ellipsoid veneered top on central chrome support, all in very fine condition). Given the complete absence of information about it on the internet i understand it must be quite rare.

I am not familiar with the model # but am thinking you are referring to the table shown here. It is 96" long. Here is a marble version of the same table. If this is the table you have they are very desirable and somewhat difficult to find, but not really rare. I usually see them go for $4000-5000.
