Does anyone know about the quality of the repro Egg and Ball chairs being made by Elixa and Krypton? They seem to be a decent price compared to a new or vintage Aarnio example but do you think that they will hold their value for what they are?

How about the new Ball and Bubble chairs from Adelta? They are almost as much as the vintage examples although I can't say I've even seen a vintage Aarnio Bubble chair.

Any insight would be appreciated.

I am not sure of the Eliza and Krypton ones, but I have heard that the reissues of the Aarnio line by Adelta are very good quality...very much the same as the originals....and yes, the vintage examples are hard to come by especially in decent shape.

When speaking of holding value I would think original Aarnio examples win out if in excellent condition. The Aarnio reissues should hold value too over the long haul as they will eventually be looked at as just a later production of the line.

The other companies designs will probably lose value after the MOD revival starts to lose favor and then perhaps regain value when 60's and 70's designs regain popularity in future decades. I doubt that they will ever be worth much more than when you buy them however - in other words, buy it because you like it!
