I was given this lamp by a neighbor who worked for Herman Miller for years. The shade is a well known form but the base is a mystery.

I sent these pix to Herman Miller and they don't recognize the number on the base.

I was told at an auction house that Herman Miller made lots of special orders. The number stamped on the bottom of the base is 148.

HELP! Does anyone recognize the base of my lamp.
