Okay, I picked this chair up from a thrift store a couple years back for about a buck-fifty...

It's about the best designed thing I've ever found via the wonderful Salvation Army, but I never expected it was of any value.

But then today, I found a set of dining chairs on a Scandinavian Design site...

...anyone have any thoughts? There are no visible markings or tags on the chair I have at all.

Hmmm. Still not sure what to make of this. Your chair is identical to another chair designed by Peter Hvidt and manufactured by Søborg Møbelfabrik except for two things. Your legs taper more and instead of the cross, side and back stretchers having rounded edges, yours look like they're square cut. It could be an American copy of this particular Hvidt chair:

Wow, thanks for that link...I knew I was onto something, but didn't expect to ever see a photo of an identical chair...and actually, the stretchers on my chair DO have radiussed edges (the poor lighting doesn't show them off) ...
