can anyone tell me the approx. value of this?

I have seen these same chairs in many retail stores as displays or for customer use. They are loose reproductions of the ant chair, but not the real thing. A label or sig on the bottom would normally clear this up, but I assume it's non-existant.

This is a Jacobsen design called the Series 7 chair... there were many variations. Upholstered, with castors, arms, and a multitude of veneers and finishes. It still is being produced today. You can buy the new ones for around $100 each I believe.

I too have seen the copies of this chair in numerous contemporary design stores as SWAGStudios mentioned, but the ones I have seen generally have a rounder back and seat. This looks to be the Jacobsen version to me.

I am looking to purchase chairs similar to the Series 7 chairs from JAcobson, but I'd like to get a better price than the originals. Does anyone know where I can buy similar looking, but cheaper chairs to the Series 7s? Who makes replicas?

2nd hand or vintage series 7 chairs are much cheaper than new. Please don't buy a 'knockoff'! You get what you pay for, and they aren't generally MUCH cheaper.
