This is a Alessandro Mendini- Kandissi Sofa from 1979.from Studio Alchymia.It was brought over from his show in Italy by Art&Industrie-NYC.4or5 were made.One is in the Denver Museum of Art.One is in the Vitra Collection.It has been featured in many publications- Hot House-by Andrea Branzi

I am not sure about the value for this piece offhand. It sounds like you have researched it pretty well so you most likely have a better idea than I do at present. If there are that few pieces then I would imagine the value would not be established to any degree of reliability..in other words it could fluctuate quite a bit. I am assuming yours is the one on eBay now with this item being as scarce as you indicate. I would think you would probably want to try a venue like Phillips, Christies or Sothebys as opposed to eBay for a valuable piece such as this. Just a suggestion.
