I have a jester lamp from the fifties that is about 3 ft. tall. He has a harlequin patterened oufit on. I was wondering if you knew anything about a lamp like this or where I can find more information. Thank you very much.

This was a popular theme in the 50's and I have seen these lamps many times...they certainly create a presence in any room given their size and subject matter. They are of interest generally only to those collecting kitsch designs however...the value is more in the decorator appeal. Several years ago when 50's kitsch lamps were hot I would occassionally see these for sale in the $300-500 range...I would guess that in today's market in super condition you might be able to get around $150-200 if you found an eager buyer.

I have been looking for this very lamp for many years now. I learned my lesson a long time ago to go ahead and buy it when u c it.
